Tiny Pretty Things by Sona Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton

Publish Date: May 26th  2015

Genres: Contemporary

What is Tiny Pretty Things about?

Black Swan meets Pretty Little Liars in this soapy, drama-packed novel featuring diverse characters who will do anything to be the prima at their elite ballet school.

Gigi, Bette, and June, three top students at an exclusive Manhattan ballet school, have seen their fair share of drama. Free-spirited new girl Gigi just wants to dance—but the very act might kill her. Privileged New Yorker Bette's desire to escape the shadow of her ballet star sister brings out a dangerous edge in her. And perfectionist June needs to land a lead role this year or her controlling mother will put an end to her dancing dreams forever. When every dancer is both friend and foe, the girls will sacrifice, manipulate, and backstab to be the best of the best.

Why am I waiting for Tiny Pretty Things?

Basically, from the first time I read the synopsis for this book, I thought it sounded really good.  I have wanted to read a book about ballet/dance for so long but have never gotten around to it.  I really love dance (I used to take it), and am a long time watcher of the show Dance Moms.  But, that’s not the only reason why I want to read Tiny Pretty Things. It sounds really good, and I’ve heard that it tackles some really tough issues.  I like contemporaries that delve a little deeper and really make you think about things.  Plus, I mean, THAT COVER.  Is that not so beautiful?

Are you waiting for Tiny Pretty Things, too?  What are you waiting for?

  6. Ohhhhhhh! Pretty cover definitely. It sounds intriguing and different from the typical girl meets boy story. I like that it deals with more serious subjects and I think I am going to add it to my TBR list :)
